Stupid question coming from a second time mum, but I've been having period like cramps all day, could they be Braxton Hicks? I don't think I had any with DD. I'm 22 weeks pg.

I've been having them for ages - my record was for around 10 hours straight a week ago or so Blink

I can 'see' mine now - basically my whole stomach goes hard, so depending on what position I'm sitting in, they can be uncomfortable.

Mine are never what I would call painful, so definitely not like I would describe a cramp like, more just a really tight feeling - like everything is being squashed up inside me.

Mine are not regular in their timing, and I feel them more at the top of my tummy, rather than where I would feel period cramps (that said, I am 38+5 so a fair bit more pregnant than you).

Hope this helps and that all is ok rosiejayne.

My belly would go rock hard for a minute or so and when it first happened I was at a Midwife appointment and she told me what it was, she actually called it 'tightenings'
I wouldn't say it was a crampy feeling though. Give your OB a call if your a little unsure what it could be.

Hmm it's a bit like a cramp, but it kind of makes it hard to breathe as well, like I have less room for my lungs? I think I'll take it easy this afternoon (I've been rushing around cooking and cleaning for a tupperware party this morning) so may have just overdone things. Thanks ladies!

My BH as well as making my belly tight feels like the baby is being forced into my pelvis and feels really heavy all of a sudden, kinda like someone puts a really heavy bowling ball into my belly for a few minutes!!! Occassionally its hard to breath as well.

Ive been wondering the same lately and Im just gone 20 weeks. I wouldnt say I feel cramps but a lot of discomfort not painful but very uncomfortable and my tummy is tight and mainly feeling it higher up in the tummy. I'd almost say like intergestion but not quiet. With my first i was on a monitor about 35 or 36 weeks and was told i was having braxton contractions but i didnt feel it at all Blushing just thought it was bub moving so I cant recall what they felt like from my first pg either.

Last night was the worst and lasted a few hours.

I should note that as mentioned last night was by far the worse I have felt i was doing loads around the house just before they hit so may be related?

I asked this exact question when I got to 25 weeks. My belly goes rock hard and I get cramps. Light period like cramps. I particularly get very painful ones if I need to go to the loo. Its embarressing to say but sometimes I just dont feel like I need to go lol. So my advice is go to the loo that should help. Also tend to get them when I am stressed or have been doing a bit to much cleaning etc.
