Lucinda is 14 months old now and still whenever she wakes in the night, I offer her the boob. She has a drink and then goes back to sleep for another 3 hours till she wakes again. I know I got myself into this by feeding her at sleep times, but I thought she would just start sleeping longer eventually, but it doesn't seem to be happening often. If I just reinsert her dummy, she cries, so it is easier to offer her the boob and then it is all done and I can go back to bed within 8 minutes of her waking.

Does anyone else still bf all through the night for a baby of this age?

Yep, I am still feeding Abby. Some times she has bottles and sometimes boob and then sometimes she is happy with just water, but it will still be three or four times a night.

Your welcome! I agree it is so much easier to just put them back to sleep the way you know works instead of being up for ages trying to find a new way and wearing your self out.

Rylee was fed overnight on demand and did this until he was over 2 and then he slowed down to once or twice a night. It was soo much quicker to do that. Then when he was about 2.5 he would just walk up the hall to my bed have a feed and go back on his own.

Capri was about 15 months before I realised that maybe I should cut out her night feeds but until then she was feeding up to a couple of times a night.

To wean her off, I just used Supernanny's method of climbing into bed with her and then just keeping my arms crossed across my chest and cuddled her back to sleep that way. It only took a couple of nights and she stopped waking for a feed, a lot easier than I thought it would be!

Adeng was still demand feeding overnight until after 2 1/2, it was just by far the easiest way of settling her and us both getting more sleep.

I would "dream feed" DD at around 10pm until she was about 9months old. After that, I started to minimise the time I would let her feed for, reducing it by 2minutes at a time for a few days and then 2 minutes more until it literally was on for 2 minutes and then off. After 5 days of that, i stopped dream feeding her and it worked a treat. It's what worked for me so I thought I would share.
