Hi Ladies,

It's been a very longtime! We are currently going through IVF (ICSI) again for no.3..........!! and yet again it's been a long and tough journey. We currently have 2 children our DS was a FET after 3 OPU and 7 transfers and our DD was a fresh after 3 OPU, 2 m/c and 8 double transfers.

I'm currently waiting for my body to kick into action (follie growing really slow) after or OPU last month (with no success with our transfer) we got 15 eggs and from that 7 fertilised.

I was wondering how many of you are taking asprin? and if so has it worked for you?? my fertility Dr has just put me on them as he is worried about my blood circulation as my toes and fingers are always blue!

and for those who have had a couple of children how long did it take to conceive no.2 and no.3?? after having 1???? as he said to me yesterday he is getting a little worried that I have had 7 transfers and not any sign of my body wonting to or being pregnant, when I have had 2 children already??

anyway if any1 has any info that would be great!
and sending you all lots of positive vibes and baby dust!!!

xx

Zoover so great to see you back, we used our last embryo a few months ago and it wasn't successful, so the end of the road for us.

Between DS1 and DS2 it took what felt like forever 5 transfers then another EC and I fell PG on my first ever fresh cycle, with Lily it took 2 attempts the 1st resulting in a m/c and then a few months rest and then I fell PG.

In regards to the Aspirin I am allergic to it so wasn't able to take it but I do know at my clinic it is generally given to all women

Good luck I really hope it's not too much longer for you and you are PG in no time

What sort of cycle are you doing this time? I did a HRT cycle and hated every minute of it plus it didn't work but just curious you don't have to say if you don't want to Smile

Hi Zoover

I started prescribing myself 70 mgs of aspirin after a lovely member here suggested it. I have seen 2 FS's at the two major clinics in Sydney and when mentioning my taking of aspirin they really didn't seem to care too much either way. They just didn't want me to take it around egg pick up.

I stopped after a while but might start back up again next month if I have to.

Wishing you all the best with no. 3.

Hey Zoover,
Welcome back BigGrin My FS had me on aspirin for my IVF and FET cycles! Lacee was conceived after a bfn on our first full cycle where we transferred 1 embie, we did our FET and transferred 2 embies and got Lacee Wub
I stopped BFing Lacee in July and got ourselves ready to attempt an FET for baby #2 in September when we discovered that we were already pregnant! Total Suprise and still can't believe it "happened the normal way, like everyone else seems to do" lol

Lots of sticky dust heading your way, I can't wait to hear about your BFP xo

How you going Zoover? it's been a long time since we have both been around. I was wondering about you the other day. glad your trying for number 3, wishing all the luck or success in the world.. hope it's a quick BFP this time around.

I took asprin 100mg and had a clexane injection when I was pregnant. I had both up until 3 days prior to delivery, that didn't happen because I went early but i actually believe that this is what sustained my pregnancy and helped us get our lovely bubba boy.

I didn't take it before as I had actually given up ever having a viable pregnancy..

hope your journey is a short one and I'll be following your journey, sending lots of sticky baby dust your way..

I found this and thought it might be helpful..

The theory behind using low-dose aspirin in pregnancy is a little complicated. One possible cause of recurrent miscarriages is having a disorder like antiphospholipid syndrome (or other thrombophilia). Having a thrombophilia disorder means an increased tendency to form blood clots, and researchers theorize that tiny clots form in the blood and get stuck in the tiny blood vessels of the placenta, possibly cutting off the supply of nutrients to the baby.

Aspirin acts as a blood thinner, and thinned blood is less likely to clot. Higher doses of aspirin (such as the tablets that you might take when you have a headache) can cause complications in pregnancy, but researchers have been experimenting with lower dose aspirin/baby aspirin to see whether it might be beneficial to prevent miscarriages.

So far, numerous studies have looked at low-dose aspirin in pregnancy, and right now the consensus is that low-dose aspirin and/or injections of heparin (another blood thinner) is a good therapy for women with diagnosed thrombophilia disorders.

The jury is still out on whether taking low-dose aspirin might benefit women who have had recurrent miscarriages but do not have a diagnosed thrombophilia disorder. Some studies have examined this notion and found no benefit to taking low-dose aspirin, while other studies have found possible benefit, and still other studies are still ongoing. Some studies are also investigating whether baby aspirin might be beneficial for other pregnancy complications, like growth restriction of the baby or pregnancy-induced high blood pressure, but the verdicts are not yet in.

Low-dose aspirin is thought to be safe even in pregnancy, so some doctors will recommend that women with recurrent miscarriages should try taking low-dose aspirin with the idea that it “can’t hurt, and might help.” Even though aspirin is available over the counter, be sure to try using baby aspirin in pregnancy only with a doctor’s approval. Aspirin can interact with other medications and also might be dangerous for people with specific bleeding disorders.
