Hi girls,

Just giving an update. I made an appointment to start our IVF process. It is with yet another clinic (my third!). Smaller than the other two but closer to home and she comes very highly regarded from people who work in that field. She only does the long suppression or down reg IVF cycle, where my other clinic wanted to do a short cycle. I figure if I'm going to go through all that we need to do whatever possible to get as many eggs as we can and I'm told this is the point of the long cycle.

So I'm currently working on getting us as healthy as possible (not that we weren't before) without obsessing because lets face it, its Christmas! I'm still doing my mindfulness meditation and hope that will help a bit with the anxiety I feel towards the IVF process. We also have a nice little beach holiday planned from the 4th of Jan.

All in all I'm feeling pretty positive and hope this eventuates into a positive result

Good luck next year, going through the IVF process is and can be a very daunting process but keeping a positive frame of mind and talking over any issues you may have about the whole thing with your DH can help immensely and remember we are all here to listen and offer any advice we can, it seems like a lifetime ago that we started IVF and now it's finished, enjoy it, it really is an amazing journey and my kids (well the older 2) love to hear the story of their conception it makes for interesting dinner time talk BigGrin

Hi girls, just got back from seeing my new fertility specialist. I love her and I'm so glad I changed to a new clinic. After doing all my research I had an idea what I wanted to do and she was totally on the same wave-length without me even prompting her.

I start Synarel on 19/Jan. My egg retrieval is around 13/Feb.

At this stage (unless my blood tests come back positive for antibodies to sperm) we are doing 50% IVF and 50% ICSI. We're doing 50% ICSI to hedge our bets just in case my DH's sperm cant penetrate my eggs through IVF and then we would have gone through it all for nothing. The procedure will be done 15 minutes away from my home and all tests/tracking about 10 minutes away from home/work.

I feel so positive and accepting I hope I can maintain this feeling throughout the coming weeks.

HERE WE GO!!!.....

I start sniffing my Synarel tomorrow in the lead up to ICSI.

We had a bit of a break through, my new Dr found that I was positive to sperm antibodies (my immune system is attacking DH's sperm tails inhibiting their swimming and fertilization) . Now, I'm a little peeved that IVFAust and SydIVF didn't pick this up $6000 ago!!!Cursing She found this out via a simple blood test! Anyway... this is what has caused us to focus more on ICSI (we will still do a couple of IVF depending on how many eggs they retrieve). We were also both VitD deficient which can cause birth defects and disease in the baby so they have us on a multitude of vitamins to rectify that.

So all in all feeling pretty good that we are on the right track finally. Yay! Dancing Hope I feel like this in a few weeks
