Hi guys,

I'm due 19th Feb & am interested to hear if anyone else has done this before?! Very stressful indeed!Crying

At 26 weeks we almost changed as ob informed us that he induces on the due-date, but after some negotiation, he "allowed" us to go 7 days over.
As my pregnancy progressed, I began to want things at the birth that I hadn't known about or wasn't educated about with my previous birth (DS is 3 on the 22/01/2012). So, after discussing our birth preferences with our ob we were disappointed that he didn't see "eye to eye" with us. After more sleepless nights & a lot of angry/anxious days, I decided I just couldn't have this ob at my birth anymore (DH agreed) so we told him we have decided not to go with him anymore (I was 31 weeks then)- he was thankful that I rang him personally & said he was starting to feel a bit awkward too. So all was good & no hard feelings! But now we had the dilemma of finding an ob or person who would adhere to our birth preferences! We made so many phone calls & tried WCH midwifery group, we saw one ob who was great except she had a hard and fast rule about all of her patients being on the bed facing her when pushing!!! That was not something I felt comftable with! Then we had another appt with a diff doc made, but who I later found out had the highest rate of c-sections in Adelaide so I knew she wasn't the kind of doc we would like to be at our birth either! Finally, after booking in WCH (was going to have bub at Ashford) as a public patient and who I couldn't see for appt until 6 Feb, we found a doc who met our needs! But who may not be there for the birth as he has a lecture he has to be away for for 3 days around my due date! I'm now 35 weeks on Sunday!
Anyone think I'm crazy?!? Lol

I have not changed OB’s during pregnancy but I would be getting very stressed out if I got given all those “rules” I do not blame you for wanting to change. I have a different OB this time (first OB would not let me do a VBAC) and this one is very supportive she is at Ashford, but I am not sure how you will go getting in this late IYKWIM. Have you tried birth centres?

Hey Terry Girl,

Thanks for replying so quick! I was booked into Ashford with first ob, so I'm assuming I'm still booked? Yeah the "rules" makes me so annoyed! Angry I'd understand if I was high risk, but I'm not, or if I was asking for high risk things which I'm not! Who's your ob if u don't mind my asking?
