While I have nothing against those who FF and I understand every mother has to make the right choice for her and her baby when it comes to feeding, I have so far been fortunate enough to be able to exclusively BF my DD and I'm now really loving it! There's something very satisfying about being able to meet all my baby's needs, and it's so convenient. I had cracked nipples and mastitis early on but we're going great now ( 11weeks) and I hope to be able to BF for a long time in the future Smile

Anyway this being a BF support thread, it gets filled up with all the issues we all have with BF (which are great to share, and it certainly helps to read others experiences and tips), so just thought I'd add something positive to the mix, as I know there's a whole bunch of people on here that love BF!

I'm with you! I love breastfeeding too. BigGrin I just couldn't imagine having to make bottles. Being able to just up and go without having to pack a bag is great. I can put my kids to sleep without a fuss. Make a bump on the head better. Ahhhh one solution to so many problems.

Me too BigGrin not long now and I'll get to do it all again! I couldnt BF my 1st past 4mths (returned to fulltime work and my supply dwindled, then stopped Sad ) but I loved feeding Isaac until he self-weaned at 17mths. To me, it's so satisfying knowing your baby is growing well all because of you!

I loved it too! I had the same problem as Hannah, though, with going back to work and losing my supply (and Evelyn's motivation to drink from the breast instead of the bottle). But I loved it while I did it, and I'd love to do it again!

I'm really looking forward to having a milky little baby snuggling into me again :)

I HOPE that I don't have the cracked nipples and mastitis this time. But even if I do, the feeling that I'm growing a fat healthy little baby just from my milk makes it all worthwhile.

Yeah, I had my moments early on, but now bub and I are in a nice little rhythm. And your right rosiejayne, the snuggles are good!!! It is satisfying knowing that you are giving your baby exactly what they need. I've read that BM changes somehow throughout the day so baby actually gets what they need in the morning and whatever they need at night! Who knows!
I like the way DD looks all satisfied and full when she's had a big drink :)

There are also hormones that go into the milk at night time to help them sleep. It's great stuff BigGrin

Me too! I don't think you can beat that look of utter happiness and satisfaction on a little one's face as they snuggle in for milky - I can honestly say that apart from those first few weeks when it was painful, I have never found feeding to be difficult or a chore. I loved having a reason for a little hiatus and a cuddle throughout the day - I would have happily kept feeding as long as DD liked. So lovely Wub

Couldn't agree more. Wub Wub

My 18 day old has put on 310g from his birth weight (even more from the initial loss) and it was all tube fed EBM. ThumpUp Between 12pm and 6pm today it was all feeds at the breast and there is absolutely nothing better then knowing that you are completely and entirely giving your baby everything they need to grow and develop, yourself. I love it also!

It is so convenient, no stuffing around with bottles and heating up formula, just pop your boob out and you’re done.

I think the single hardest thing I find with breastfeeding is having to be there every single feed, but it is so worth it!

I also love that if Jimmy has hurt himself or is not well I can instantly calm him down by putting him on the boob. Now that he has gotten older I do offer hugs first and that normally works but sometimes he is really upset and a breastfeed works wonders Wub It is really amazing so see just how calming a breastfeed is, it is like magic!

It was great to know that for the first 6 months of Jimmy’s life he grew and thrived of me and me alone!

I hope to tandem feed in a few months Wub Wub Wub Wub

tandem feeding is awesome terrysgirl :) we didnt do it for long, but it was something else to do it at all :) and have to agree, i loved breastfeeding.... i'm someone who, would just love to sit there and BF for the rest of my life- its such a fulfilling feeling- to know that you, your body alone and nothing else-grew this baby from a few little cells. and then once it was born, your body and it alone is nourishing, sustaining and growing this baby and meeting its every need, all from your boos, of all things! its like... wow, my baby is relying on me for life and to feed it and it needs me to keep it alive and i am doing it without anything else- iygwim? loved it loved it. trhats why we did it for so long! this past.... 5 months? has actually been, the longest that i have not been breastfeeding since i became a parent :/ its weird, i;ve always been a mum and been breastfeeding so it feels weird to just be a mum whose pregnant but not bf at the same time.... cant wait for these next few months to fly by and we'll be back at it again! i'm an out and proud BF'er nothing else makes me as happy as being able to BF my babies because its something only i can do :)

Absolutely! BF is wonderful and I was lucky I was able to BF my DS for 11 months! I have a friend who was unable to BF and it upset her quite alot as she was really looking forward to it.
