It's been a while since I've updated but I didn't really have anything new to tell- until now!

We had our FS appointment yesterday and he was fantastic!!! I knew him from when we worked at the same public hospital as me but now he's just private, so he recognised me which was nice. He explained everything so well and asked if we had any questions Woot and was very positive that we would be able to have a baby Wub Dancing

He said my weight was not an issue as I wasn't the 'typical' PCOS sufferer. Unlike the last FS who make me feel horrible and just said 'lose it' (the extra weight)

So I'm now going to be taking clomid and have to have a mid-cycle scan to make sure it's working.

He did scare me a little when he said we'll give this a go but otherwise it's IVF Scared but later in the conversation he said there is also IUI and we have options ThumpUp

So all in all a very positive experience BigGrin

Thanks Suzanne ThumpUp

Well for an update- I had my mid cycle scan yesterday. The left ovary is looking a bit slack and he said there was nothing sizeable there but on the right there are 2 follies of a good size and he thinks I will O late this cycle but hopefully between days 16-18 ThumpUp. He was so good at explaining everything and was talking me through the ultrasound and was pointing out the lining of my uterus, said it's looking good and just about ready for implantation Pray

He was very sweet and said you might be lucky and it work first go, but to remember O doesn't equal pregnancy so we need to keep DTD!! We're under strict instruction Laugh

He said obviously to let him know if it's successful but otherwise up my dose for next cycle and have another scan. I also mentioned about acupuncture and he said he recommends it for his IVF patients and thinks it works well and can increase blood flow to the uterus.

He also bulk billed me too Woot so that saved $100 and I can use that for acupuncture ThumpUp I've booked in to a lady that a friend of a friend used and apparently she is a 'miracle worker'...I'm reserving judgement Unsure but I'm looking forward to trying something new and helping the process along BigGrin. She works from home and DH is coming along with me so it should be good. I'm not sure if anyone else has used it- so I wouldn't mind any feedback!

Great news Nattie, I started taking Blackmores Conception Gold before I had my transfer with Lily and it worked wonders for my lining, the most beautiful plump one my FS had seen Blushing

With the Acupuncture my FC recently started advocating before and after an embryo transfer apparently it relaxes the body and puts it in a state of optimal acceptance for implantation for the embryo, by the time it was popular our journey had finished but I would of done absolutely anything to help, I know it was wonderful for my migraines between the ages of 7 and 13.

Wishing you all the luck in the world and I really hope that this month is it for you and your DH and if it isn't don't give up hope it just means your one step closer to that miracle BigGrin

Glad to hear all went well with your appointment today Nattie.

I'm getting acupuncture at the moment and have been since January. So far things haven't worked as quickly as they did with DD, but hopefully it's not too far away.

Thanks Tessbrook and Louise BigGrin

I'm feeling very positive about the treatment and the FS but I'm just having a down day today Sad.

*Vent alert- look away now if you don't want to hear this!*

DH's brother and wife (who we didn't speak to for a couple of years and have been now getting better with over the last year and a half) told us a couple of weeks ago that they are expecting a second child and yesterday announced it on facebook. Plus DH got an mms ultrasound pic off his brother yesterday..while I'm happy for them and for them letting us know (if the spirit of getting along and it makes DH happy) it's killing me Sad the first time around she got UTD first go and this time around she was telling me they had wanted to try at January this year and she was waiting for AF to show up and when she realised it was late and she was UTD and "they had only slipped up once". That isn't fair....why can they not even plan twice and we're still waiting 18 months later Crying

Nattie Crying GBH hunnie it is so very hard processing other peoples pregnancy news when you are long term TTC. Vent away, its ok to feel the way you do. It is totally not fair. You and your DH are such deserving parents its screwed up how some people can just blink and be pregnant but a couple who have so much love they desperately want to give a child and they are made to wait and wait. not fair

Just keep thinking of your beautiful bub you WILL have and he/she will be totally worth the wait.

I am really praying that the clomid is working for you this month and that by the time your SIL has her baby you will have a beautiful round tum yourself

Xoxoxoxo big big hugs and cuddles darl

Hugs Nattie, I feel your pain only too well and unfortunately it sucks, you'll get your miracle in no time, it just takes a little longer for our special babes to come to us

Thanks Raff Smile You made me cry!! It's just so hard to imagine something when you don't have a picture to visualise IYKWIM. I really, really, really hope I have that rounded tum by then too and look as gorgeous as you do, thanks for the cuddles I needed them Laugh

Thanks Suzanne and yes it does SUCK! Somedays I just feel like it's never going to happen Sad but I just have to keep in mind stories like yours, Raff's and others.....

On a TMI note we are still DTD as per instructions but getting over it- last night just wasn't working and DH said we're not here to have fun, we're here to do a job and start our family Blushing LOL RollEyes Wub

Oh Nattie - I love a good vent! It's totally understandable that it's hard for you to put on the 'I'm so happy for you' front when you want this so badly and have waited (and waited) so patiently! We can't help how we feel. I know it can be hard to stay positive all the time, but I really think the excitement and joy you will feel when you get that sticky BFP will be so much more considering what you have been through. Plus - you have so many people (on here and I'm sure your family and friends) who are going to be jumping out of their skin with excitement when you announce you are pregnantWoot !
It sucks at the time, but dealing with adversity builds character and makes us who we are.

Is it just me - but do men not really understand this? We were about to BD last night and DH asked me if I wanted to see the latest photos of his great niece. I hate the fact that he is a great uncle before he is even a dad, but I bet he hasn't even thought about it. So that definitely killed the mood for a bit, but I pulled myself together and got on with it. Baby making is too important to let myself get distractedLOL
