Im doing shared care as well.
Had GP appointment this morning and had bloods done, got to call back in a couple of days for results. She didn't take into account my cycle length so put my due date at 21st October but taking into account my cycle length I calculated edd of 17th. So next appointment she said she will book for scan so we will wait and see I guess.

Is it normal not to have any symptoms? This is our first pregnancy and we are just abit worried that I dont feel any 'different'. We see the doctor on Saturday and will have our 12 week ultrasound in about a month.

Hope you don't mind me replying, but I never out of my 4 pregnancies felt any different in the first 12wks, no sickness at all, so maybe you are one of the lucky ones, at your appointment just ask your GP if you could maybe have a dating scan to put your mind at ease

Sorry for crashing just wanted to say that I don't feel any different either.... Apart from having a bump and feeling bubs move I wouldn't know I was preggers. I am a little tired at the end of the day but that's just from a long day I'd say.
As Lily&Me suggested maybe ask your GP for a dating scan - this helped calm me early on. Sounds like your super lucky with getting away with no MA too ThumpUp .

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy Smile

thanks for the reassuring replies :)

i did have a 'sick feeling' a few mornings but that has gone away and the odd indegestion/heart burn.

we had a dating scan (was 5 weeks 3 days) but was too early to see heartbeat or anything.

Well, October Mummies, we received bad news this week.

I had minimal spotting on Monday but thankfully went to my Dr. who sent me for blood tests to check my HCG levels. Unfortunately to they did not rise, so went and hbad scheduled scan and again, the sac was apparent with no heartbeat. My first scan 2wks ago showed the same thing but Dr. said I may have only been 5wks rather than 7wks!

The Dr. has advised it's not our turn this time round, but the worse part is having to wait to physically miscarry. If it hasn't happened "naturally" in a weeks time I will need a D & C!

So I wish you all the very best with your pregnancies, while I leave the October thread! Hopefully I'll be able to reappear in a up and coming Jan/Feb thread...

I'm so sorry LB Crying If you ever need to chat there is a lot of support on here as a lot of the girls have been through the same thing. I hope I see you in the Due in Jan or Feb and that it's a sticky bub xx

Kimi-jaine my first pregnancy I just felt tired, hardly any sickness

AFM I saw my GP yesterday and she said on the ultrasound there was a haematoma so if I get any bleeding it's ok Huh feeling really paranoid and expecting it when I go to the toilet now! ThumbDown

Hope everyone else is doing well and have a great weekend Smile

So sorry for your loss LB. I hope you get a sticky bub soon xx all the best.

October2012 - that would be scary! Did he say to take it easy or anything to prevent bleeding or if it will go away?

AFM I've been very hormonal and emotional. Been wanting to cry just for the sake of crying! I have an appointment with my GP on Wednesday for results of blood test then take things from there I guess.

Hope everyone is doin well xx

October 2012 i had that with Caitlin was put on bed rest for 2 weeks with follow up scans, she is now 5, just rest up when can.
It is quiet common.
If you get heavy bleeding go too your local maternity hospital or ring your ob, ours has an emergency center which are great

we had a gp appointment this morning and he ordered at 12 week ultrasound and blood tests.

i also got a copy of our dating ultrasound and read that a heartbeat (99bpm) was detected on our ultrasound (5 weeks 3 days). is it odd that neither the ultrasound technician or the doctor have told me there was a heartbeat? i hadnt asked about a heartbeat as i assumed it was too early. the ultrasound report also notes that the heartbeat is 'slightly slow'.

do we get another ultrasound after the 20 week one?

also can someone please clarify, if I am 8 weeks 5 days is it said I am in the 8th or 9th week?

Thanks ladies. Didn't say anything about rest Huh just that if I have any bleeding not to worry Scared thankfully nothing yet. Off to my OB on the 6th March so hopefully he is a little more helpful.

immyk I swear I never used to cry until I had my first. Now I cry at the drop of a hat even when not pregnant RollEyes

kimi-jaine you usually don't get another scan after 20 weeks unless there are problems found during the 20 week scan. 5 weeks is early for a heartbeat so it probably would be very slow just starting to beat

Have been very sleepy this weekend. Had a huge nap yesterday and it was dinner time when I woke up! Makes me feel worse having one but just so exhausted think it's time to break out the ferrograd.

october2012 - How can pregnant women "not worry" if they start bleeding OhMyGod
Fingers X'ed you dont bleed and your OB is more helpful.

Kimi-jaine - what october2012 said about the 20 week scan. but ive also noticed depending on the hospital/drs/ob/midwives if they do another scan after 20 weeks. When i was pregnant with DD the dr at the hospital did a scan at about 36 weeks i think and it was just to check position of bub so it was like 2-3 mins. It confusing sometimes with the weeks. when you are in your 1st week of pregnancy technically your (eg) 0w3d then when your 1 week your in your 2nd week but 1w4d, so if your 8w5d you are in your 9th week but only 8w5d. if that makes sense? someone clear me up if im wrong please.

I brough a fetal doppler and i cant wait to be able to use it!! is it me or does the first trimester seem to take FOREVER! LOL.

Does anyone know the name of the music thing you strap onto your belly to play music to your baby? I saw it on bones the other day and thought it was a wonderful idea.

Don't know if this will help anyone else but last pregnancy it was the taste in my mouth that made me feel sick so i started carrying around little bags of mints and aniseed rings and when i felt sick i'd suck on one, prob a bit obvious but it really helped. Nausea has just kicked in but i'm ok so long as i don't get to hungry so just snack all day. Every pregnancy has been different. First one i was horribly sick from before test untill she was born but no symptoms at all except bump with baby 4.Hope everyone is well. Smile
