We're looking for your words of wisdom!

In the Oct/Nov issue of M&B we printed a short piece from a mum of three, all about the things she did to boost her mood when she was feeling down.

We're now looking for your wise words. Do you have any advice to help other mums? Do you have a mantra that helps keep you sane or some practical tips to get you through the parenting maze? Think of them as "reader's tips", but instead of being about household chores or money saving tips, they're sanity saviours or tips to help you out emotionally.

Just jot your thoughts down in less than 300 words and email them to m&b@acpmagazines.com.au with "Wise words" in the subject line.

Each issue we'll print our favourite – and the writer will receive a $50 Coles Myer voucher for their time.

Get your thinking caps on! :D

I would have to say that now wih Leon...5 months old...if I have to go out I have the younger two with me...Leon and Madison 3 so to keep her occupied if I have to go for a doctors appointment or even just out for a coffee I always carry a small cube of post it notes and a small pencil...keeps her entertained for hours.
Certainly helps me anyway

In the early days and months of bringing your baby home from hospital, get your partner to change the first morning nappy and feed baby in bed with you while you wake up. It's so much easier to get the day started!

What always got me through...was " Whatever works". I still say that in my head every day I think.

People mean well but they also have opinions on everything that you do as a parent...and vice versa....I started to just take on the mantra...whatever works...

If it all get's a bit too much, housework, baby crying, dad wants tea, Call for takeaway and take baby for a little walk outside and the housework can wait, "tomorrow is going to be a great day". Think positive thought's for the future and everything should run smoothly.

I remind myself that there is no such thing as a perfect parent. If everything and everyone was perfect the world would be a boring place to be. As long as my baby, my hubby and I are all well looked after, fed, happy and told that they are loved every day then I know that I have done my part.

when you're at wits end take a deep breath and tell you're self " my child is beautiful and loves me". Everything else will fade away when you look into their eyes.

rainy day??? had enough of pent up kids.... 2 choices...

play in the puddles or play with the paint...

i loved puddles when i was a kid and so does my 2.5 yr old... if its not really windy or stormy just rain... we get out and play in it... there is nothing better than watching the looks on their face... i think my daughter thinks im crazy!!! singing in the rain with and umbrella dancing ... my elderly neighbour told me it also brightens her day to watch us dance in the rain!!

too stormy to go out... invest in a roll of butchers paper and school paints ( they wash off andout of things the easiest) i roll it out in our garage and then we lose the shoes and roll up our sleeves and we do toe paintings and hand prints.. then sometimes if we have some good ones.. i cut them out and put them in a frame... make great pressies for nan's and pop's!!

oh yeah if you dont smile youll cry... so just look at your bub.... bet you smile!! :D

Hello Ladies,
Just a reminder that if you send us your wise words on parenting you could be featured in the mag! As well as winning $50. An easy $50 at that!
All you have to do is send through your detailed thoughts on being a mum or any advice that you have for other mums out there to m&b@acpmagazines.com.au
Note: If your entry doesn't get used in the next issue it may pop up in another issue down the track so don't hesitate to email us whenever you have something to address or get off your chest (about being a parent or partner) that you think other mums will realate to and/or benfit by reading.
We look forward to reading your responses. :D :D
