rach not the news you wanted i am sure.

right now though, each day is another day that they can gain weight. hopefully you can get the 4 weeks to make them even stronger. is it TTTS affecting the size?

hang in there, they have to stay put for a few more weeks yet

Are you getting weights at your ultrasounds? How much are they weighing now? My twins were 1800gms and 1900gms at 30 weeks and then at birth they were 2400 and 2700gms.

April is right. Every day they stay in is a day they gain weight. As easy as this is for me to say now, stressing is not going to help either. Your OB wouldn't take them early unless it was absolutely neccessary and after all the drama and them telling me I would go early I nearly ended up being induced. So I have my fingers crossed that this happens to you.

I have been thinking of you the last couple of days and hoping that all was ok.
It is great that your cervix is staying stable ...hopefully it will continue to do so.
1100g at 28w4d sounds like a great size...Indy was born at 1045g at 28w1d and she was quite an average weight.
Only 3 days till 30 weeks...woohoo..you are doing great!! :D

That isn't a bad weight. It's a little bit abouve average so that is working in your favour if they have to come out early.
Good news about the cervix staying the same. I used to joke when I was havign a bad day and needed to cheer myself up that the fact that it was shortening now would help me later when I was in labour.
Hope your scan goes well and that those little bubbas are fattening up nicely.

30 weeks today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very excited about that!!!!

LIsa - hope Maxx is doing well. I bet you just cant wait to take him home!!!!

twinmonkey - wow so u think that is above average, I wonder why they are saying they in the bottom 10%.

It is actually the abdomen size they are most worried about. Im not going to worry, just have to wait and see how the next scan on Tues goes.

I will fill you in!!

April what is TTTS???? Sorry?

TTTS is twin to twin transfusion syndrome which can occur in monozygotic twin pregnancies.

Quote:
Twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) is a disease of the placenta (or afterbirth) that affects identical twin pregnancies.
TTTS affects identical twins (or higher multiple gestations), who share a common monochorionic placenta.
The shared placenta contains abnormal blood vessels, which connect the umbilical cords and circulations of the twins.
The common placenta may also be shared unequally by the twins, and one twin may have a share too small to provide the necessary nutrients to grow normally or even survive.
The events in pregnancy that lead to TTTS - the timing of the twinning event, the number and type of connecting vessels, and the way the placenta is shared by the twins are all random events that have no primary prevention (see section on The Monochorionic Placenta), is not hereditary or genetic, nor is it caused by anything the parents did or did not do. TTTS can happen to anyone.

Kaz Cookes up the duff says babies are usually 1kg and Birth by catherine price and sandra robinson says 1.1kg. So your weights are pretty good. As for abodomen length, surely that would be an indication of height maybe? I don't really know.
Let us know how you go.

Thanks for the abbreviation definition, I am hopeless at abbreviations!!! So the answer to April is No then, you dont get twin to twin transfusion in my case as they are not identical.

Hopefully tuesday will bring on some growth and hopefully they have been taking some of the endless amounts of food I have been enjoying!!!!

Awesome news Rach! :D
I am so glad that your cervix length has not changed and that those little cherubs are tucked up tight ans growing nicely.
I really hope you don't need those bags for some weeks yet.
You are doing great and it is fantastic that you are nearly 31 weeks.
