Hi girls

I have had a horrid headache the last two days and this morning i woke with a migraine. I have been a migraine sufferer for years now but wondering if anyone else has had this, what i can do about it and if you know what causes it??

Thanks heaps :D

I am also a migraine sufferer and got a few with DS1 that were really severe. With one of them I ended up at the doctors as if I even moved the slightest bit I started to vomit and after 4 hours of this I called my Ob and he sent me to the GP... I ended up having to have an injection of something to help me to sleep and stop the nausea.
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do other than paracetamol unless your doctor is happy to give you something else... Does sleep help yours? Usually it's what helps me but after 2 days it may not...

I don't know what causes it but it's certainly something to ask your doctor... I'd make an appointment seeing as you've had it for over 2 days now.

I got complicated migraines when I was preggo with kenzie and it looked like I had had a stroke..... According to the neurologist and Ob's I was when I ended up in hospital for a week with one ... Your blood is thicker when preggo and that cant cause migraines and more headaches.... Seeing as one of the best treatments for migraines is something asprin based and you cant have that they say go for panadol and lots of rest and sleep and fluids so the usual stuff.

are you drinking lots of water? i think dehydration plays a huge part in headaches, not sure about migraines though, i hope they go away soon!

Thanks girls. I think after reading the advice i need to increase my water and make an appointment with the doctor. Sometimes i am lucky and if i get a good sleep it will pass but because i have had it a couple of days i am stuck with it for now. I have taken panadol and it decreases the severity but doesn't get rid of it.

I had really bad headaches/ migranes whn I was pregnant with DD. It was horrible and nothing I did would get rid of them. In the end I went to the Dr and he prescribed really strong panadol for me but I was wary of taking such a strong drug when pregnant. But he id also say to me that oranges and other citrus fruits, chocolate and red wine can make them really bad. I had been craving oranges from the moment I was pergnant and as soon as I stopped eating oranges the migranes started to go away so perhaps you could look at your diet and see if you can make any links to what you have been eating and then see if it is perhaps that!? Gooduck and I hope they go away soon :)
