Just to put it out there that alot of pregnant mothers to be are in fact doing it alone. I know I did with DS1 after he left when I told him I was expecting. And I split with Hubby when I was 6 months pregnant with DS2.
I know quite a few mothers who have decided to do it alone. I have always felt quite intimidated by my married friends because they have the traditional 'ideal' set up.
Maybe an article on doing it alone would be a helpful topic (at any age) even ivf as a single woman to fulfill dreams of being a mother.

Excellent idea. And perhaps M&B could cover single parent adoption too?

I know this thread is a bit old, but I think thats a brillant idea! I spilt with my ex at 25 weeks and found the pregancy magazines had all this advice about becoming a family of 3 but would of loved to hear some experiences about becoming a family of just 2!!

I actually got to the stage where I didn't buy pregnancy magazines towards the end of my pregnancy cause i was sick of hearing about the ideal set up!!

would love to see more magazines cover the single parent issues especially women doing pregnancy alone, and women raising children without a partner in the picture!! BigGrin

I think it's a great idea. Another reason, I have noticed some people are not very respectful towards single mummies who are doing it hard enough they don't need comments.
To all the single mummies keep up the good work, your doing an amazing job!

On the topic of single parenting. maybe an article on Single parents who are having a baby to a man who is not their other children's father? IYKWIM? Some advice on dealing with situations would be great..
