Ok so technically DD was only on the brink of being a premmie so I don't really consider her as premmie just early.

Name : Emilie
DOB: 25th December 2009
Gestation: 37 weeks
Weight: 3280g
Hospital/NICU stay: 10 days

Complications:
-Laryngomalacia causing retractions. (ie couldn't breathe properly)
-Unable to suck causing rapid weight loss more than 10% (fed via naso-gastic tube progressing to syringe, progressing to Bottle fed ebm and eventually successful breastfeeding)
-High temp was given ABs
-Jaundice requiring phototherapy for 3 and a half days

Outcome:
-Now aged 2, still has stridor from Laryngomalacia and developed asthma diagnosed at around 16 months. On steroid medication via inhalers and under control :-)
-We successfully BF for 18 months!
-No after effects from jaundice or high temp

Happy and healthy toddler!

Gestation: 33 +6 weeks
Weight: 1.665kg or 3pd 10oz
Discarged: 2.180KGS
Hospital/NICU stay: 5 1/2wks

At 20wk Morphology scan, I was told that my sons heart and portal vein was very different. Was told that it might not be possible to live. Was sent to Townsville to have a teritary scan. They were far more optimistic. I continued to go there to have scans. At 28wks Dr Watson said that he was small for gestation and to have a scan at 30wks in Mackay then another at 32wks in Townsville. We packed everything we needed for our 32wk scan as bub was not growing very well. He told us to go home for another wk. However he tried calling us on our way back home to tell us to stay. Pity I didnt hear my phone! Argh!!! We drove back up 3 days later. Had traces done on bubs heart on the monday morning and got admitted that afternoon. Was not expecting to have our son til 36wks. Wednesday arvo I had an emergency c-sec. I didnt get to see him for about 5mins. He had cord around neck twice and needed to be resuscitated.

Antenatally diagnosed fetal abnormality
- double SVC, small muscular VSD, variant anatomy of the portal venous system
Complications:
- CPAP - 1 days in NICU
- Jaundice 2 days under billy lights
Flew home at 6days
Needed to be put on O2 cos of flight home
-hypospodius
-scaral sinus
Came off O2 3 Days before coming home
