I thought I would give us pre-TTCers a place to chat and what not.

Feel free to share a bit of your story & the reason your not TTC yet, waiting for a certain month, haven't quite got DH convinced, your not quite convinced yet or health reasons.

I'm Kirra, I'm 22 years old with an 18 month old little boy. We are planning to TTC mid '11. I need to lose 10kg before TTC (as recommended by my OB) and I'm not 100% sure if I'm ready to TTC yet even tho I'm so clucky Wub

I hope I'm not lonely in here for too long.

Lol Bec I saw that you had commented here and thought you must be clucky again already!!! :)

We aren't TTC just yet as we want a bit of a gap between DD and the next babys birthday, she was born in December so we might start trying in April. No more Christmas babies for us! :) I need to lose weight too but it will never happen. I lost 25kg by BF DD (only put on 13kg the whole pregnancy) so hopefully same thing will happen with the next baby!

What a great topic idea! BigGrin

I'm another one with an xmas baby (hey RJ) and we are not ready to start yet, but I am desperate for number 2. We would ideally like to move to a bigger house, need me to go back to work P/T for at least six months for a bit of extra money, lose 10kg, get married 1st and finally I am still working on DF. So thanks to all of those things think we will not be starting to try till end of the year beginning of next year.

We are TTC this cycle. (AF now)... so in 2 weeks. I conceived first go with both sons so not sure what will happen this time!! I am thinking though I might hold off another month (or not try too hard this month.) I know I will go early based on my last 2 babies so I would prefer to clear Christmas well and truly!!

We tried for a 3 year age gap between our boys and want another 3 year gap this time hence our decision to TTC now. 3 years is awesome!!ThumpUp

Good luck everyone. Smile

Good luck Bek, nice to hear the three year gap is good since this is what we will probably be aiming for.

Awesome thread idea!!! I will definately be frequenting, as although DH and I aren't quite ready, I just want to talk about it, now I have some lovely ladies to talk to!!

I'm with the other December baby mums, my daughter was born xmas day 09 so really really wanna steer clear of March April and even May conception. Also I would prefer DD to be over 2 years old by the time our next comes along so any time after June and DH and I will probably start TTC :)

Only problem is DH works away and because he is 2 on and 2 off my cycle falls that I'm ovulating every time he is away, so I'm willing my body to stretch my cycles just a tad so that by the time June/July comes around it will be the perfect timing for TTC!!!

DH is sort of blah about TTC our next child. About a year ago he was trying to convince me to TTC then, mainly because he is 10 years older than me and he thinks he is too old to be having babies (I have to keep telling him that he's not!) so we were talking about it the other day and he is just happy to TTC whenever now, like he doesn't really mind when as long as he gets to DTD lol. This will be our last child as he has another daughter (my DSD) so that will make it 3.

Can anyone tell me how to use OPK's?? A pregnant friend of mine gave me her left over ones but not the sheet saying how to use, (she accidently gave me the pregnancy test instruction sheet). I will be starting to track my cycles from this month so any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

HI GIRLS!

Rachel - Sorry no idea about the OPKs, never used them. Maybe try google? LOL@ your DH just wanting to DTD. My hubby is the same.

Luc - Ooh how exciting about your wedding date, it's going to fly by so fast.

Bek - Good luck next month ;]

RosieJayne - Congratulations on the big loss, that's excellent!

Bec - Thank you <3

AFM - I'm definitely skipping the Christmas birth period too. I'm due to be bridesmaid for my SIL in March 12 so we need to hold out atleast 3 months or so because I don't want to be popping around their wedding date LOL. I'm off to a dietition appointment tomorrow. Haven't lost much weight since I saw her last. Anyone doing anything exciting this week?

PreciousCargo - how exciting I've been a bridesmaid once for a friend and I LOVED it!

Not really, I gotta get everything ready for a wedding expo I'm doing on the weekend, so I'm pretty busy making sure I haven't forgotten anything. That's on Sunday so next week I'm going to a day spa with my best friend who is visiting from Canada for her birthday! Doing that on DD's daycare day so I'm pretty excited about that! Not often I get to do things like that so yeah, that's my exciting things coming up. What about everyone else?

Oh, I'm going to try an OPK for the first time on Saturday which is CD11 for me so that's exciting. Never done it before! Tracking cycles is sorta exciting coz it means we will be TTC soon yay!!!

Hey Everyone,

So nice to have a place to chat about this stuff.

Rach; spa day sounds like heaven - v. exciting about you trying again in the middle of the year. Never done OPK so let us know how it goes.

Well had a chat with DF (soon to be DHLOL ) and we are getting somewhere on the having a 2nd front I think. We won't be able to afford private ob, etc this time, but chatting to some friends I have found a hospital close that I am ok with, so that a start. This was DF biggest issue, the $5k for the ob which is hard to find when I am still a SAHM.

Work wise off for yet another interview Fri, this will be my 3rd face to face, getting a bit over them and I used to work in recruitment! So would be nice if this one works out.

So a few off the list if I am lucky.

Soph - Ooh! Overseas... Where are you planning on going? (if I'm allowed to ask)

Luc - Yay on getting somewhere on TTC#2. Good luck on your interview.

Rachel - The day spa sounds really nice! I've never been to one. I hope you enjoy your time with your Canadian friend.

Lizzy - It doesn't matter when you are going to TTC, everyone is welcome to join. :]

Hi peoples :)

Luc - That's good that you've found a hospital you are comfortable with already! Good luck for your interview tomorrow!!!

Welcome Soph - Good luck for TTC after May, if you begin in June we may be in the same TTC thread or PG thread possibly! If my cycles match DH's roster that is... have fun on your holiday!

Lizzy Welcome - and great to see you join us even if you are TTC next year :)

What is everyone considering RE hospitals? Would you go to the same as your previous children? DD was born in a public hospital but DH and I applied for obstetrics on our health insurance in November and that has a 12 month waiting period so by Nov 2011 we will be able to go private. I'm a little bit undecided though because I LOVED the public hospital that DD was born in, my doctor and all the midwives and the anaesthetist who did the epidural did such a great job and that was on xmas day when they were on skeleton staff! But then the hospital had shared rooms which was ok, but it would be nice to have my own room for a bit more privacy.. So I don't know...! I suppose I have a while to decide :)

I'm half in the boat and half not.
I would love a fourth baby but DH is not so sure. In one of our discussions about it he said that I was playing dirty as I knew he would do it becasue it would make me happy, but I know he doesn't really want too. So I'm trying to be good and not really bring up the subject until June or July (when I'd like to start trying)
I can see his point. Our house really isn't big enough, I've already been at home for 3 years and more babies would make it even longer and now that we have had fraternal twins, four could easily be five.
But I just don't feel I'm done. And weirdly enough, I know four would be it.
Ahh, Life.

Wow Sara if it was likely that there was a chance that DH and I could have twins after getting a set already, there is NO WAY he'd let me try for more. At least your DH sounds open to suggestion :)

One of my friends always said she wanted twins, I think now after having one very tricky baby she is VERY glad she didn't get them :)

Raff I went private, Mercy in Mt Lawley. GREAT hospital, views of the swan river to Perth city. Not so good OBGYN, I'd have to find a new one if I wanted to go back there. Not too sure yet. Plenty of time to think about it. It all depends on how much medicare covers too, they have changed it so it's not included in the safety net. I'm not forking out 2K a year on insurance and then another 3K for OBGYN, I'd rather go private in the public system and get it all free.

AFM we are stripping wallpaper and re-painting the hall and dining room, not much fun with a nosy toddler underfoot!!!!

Sara - I can't even imagine how difficult it would be with twins??? Or is it one of those things that you just adapt and manage in the end? I hope that you and your hubby work things out so it's fair on both ends!

RJ - ooh painting! I know this sounds weird but I LOVE painting houses! I don't know why but it just makes your house feel fresh and new and picking colours is fun!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, wish me luck for the wedding expo tomorrow :)
