Hi All,
I am brand new to M&B, but am currently considering TTC. I stopped the pill about 5 months ago now but haven't had AF since stopping...I am booked into see my GP to discuss, but was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience??
Thanks :)

Welcome leasha!!

I was on the pill for abotu 15 years and my AF stayed the same af if i was on the pill when i stoped taking it. But I think this was because to took a long time for the pill to wear off. I took about 18-20 months to get my BFP.

I hope your GP and give you some answers! Good luck with TTC ThumpUp

Very true, you do have to be diligent with time management when you have kids, and you have to learn to leave things that need doing, if you need sleep, leave the dishes they arent so important that you can't do them later. If you need sleep you need sleep! And what better reason to be up in the middle of the night!

Welcome leasha, I don't have any experience with that, I hope the doc gives you some answers :)

Hi ladies, would I please be able to join you all in here!? I think I have convinced DH to try for #3 sometimes in teh near future and I am sooo excited!!

I had fertility issues with DS and took us 12month of TTC before we got him. He is still breast fed so as of yet I still havent had AF.

So my plan is.... when DS is around 12months I will stop breastfeeding. In the meantime I am going to try and lose some weight which I am sure will also help. Does anyone know if clomid can be taken while breastfeeding???

when I first held you I wanted to change the world...now you have changed mine

Morning *YAWN* Laugh Still so tired... Come on body you had a good sleep last night, time to get over it already! lol Laugh Wink

Ok where to start...

Welcome Kirsty & Leasha!

Kirsty Sorry I can't help you with the Clomid question, hopefully your Dr or may be post in the AC section and see if any of the ladies in there know if you can?!

Leasha Can't help you with that one either, best speak to your Dr about it, they might run some tests to see what is going on! Smile

Rach yes I know time management will become a big issue once we have a bub, but I don't mind if I am home. I am sure we will work something out! RollEyes And you're right, dishes aren't that important!! Laugh DP has these grand ideas about being a stay at home dad because he is only working part time atm, Think I don't think so hunny! lol Shame on you

Possumpie Well right now I want to complete my Diploma in Business Admin. Got a few months to go on this one and then it looks like I might be signing up to do midwifery next year, with Nattie! ThumpUp I don't mind tho if I am pregnant and am studying and then taking a break to have a bubs for a few months before going back to study again, but if this is the case I think I will be leaving my job! Dancing Which is exciting! Dancing Laugh Other then that, just paying off our debt so we can do this! lol Laugh

Nattie oh bummer! I wonder if the local pathology place in Victor Harbor do it?! Or whether it needs to be done in Adelaide... hmmm... I might have to ring and ask the pathology place. Thanks for letting me know the time frames tho! ThumpUp Haha yes we are old people trapped in younger bodies, DP calls me the old nana already cos I am always tired and wanting to go to sleep early on a weekend! Flapper ThumpUp Laugh
Hopefully your DH can figure out what he wants to do soon! ThumpUp Men, they take their time hey! RollEyes

AFM: Well if I have worked things out correctly AF should arrive on Friday. IF I was Oing when I think I was! Pray And if that's right then I should have AF when I see the OBGYN at Flinders and then if we get the all clear can DTD mid August and test very late August or very early September! - got to love my cycle tracker on my phone! Makes this so easy! lol ThumpUp BigGrin

Hmmm... well I should probably get back to work, got lots to do today cos I did NOTHING yesterday! Blink LOL lol And we have a managers meeting tomorrow which I am the chairperson for! Unsure Luckily its only 3 of us in the meeting! Flapper ThumpUp Should also get onto those assignments to get them completed so I can finish the Diploma on time so I can do this midwifery course - really excited about doing this! More so then the Diploma! ThumpUp BigGrin

Haha I just read back on my post about sleep and chores and it makes no sense whatsoever lol so there you go that is proof of sleep deprivation haha.

Casey that is so exciting about doing midwivery! After having DD in 2009 I really thought, wow that's something I would love to do, but probably don't have the time or effort to spend years of nursing to get there. That's WA anyway, could be different where you live. I was also considering becoming a doula. I would love to do the less medical side of things.

I hear you about the DH wanting to be stay at home dad! My DH wanted to, sad thing is he would make a terrific sahd but I could not be away from DD everyday. I just couldn't. Sometimes I think maybe I am so selfish, DH works two weeks away and is away from his wife and kids for two weeks just to give me the opportunity to be a sahm. What a darling he is. I always say what goes around comes around coz when he reaches retirement age I will still have ten working years to go so he'll get his moment LOL

SLEEP Confused What is that...? Actually DS has been a great sleeper since he was about 3 weeks old.. until the last week, when he's started waking 5-6 times a night... yuk!! Bit off a shock to the system...

DP would make a terrible sahd too and never even mentioned the idea LOL which is lucky because I would have flat out said NO!! I couldn't leave DS. Wub

Leasha, Im told it can take an average of 12 months for your body to regulate itself after coming off the pill. Definitely talk to your dr though. Welcome and good luck with TTC!

AFM - 3 & 1/2 weeks till DS turns 1!! Yay! Which means I will be stopping taking the pill, still BF DS, pretty much exclusively because he really isn't interested in food Brick wall Im undecided about weaning. But its not affecting my cycles so it doesnt really worry me too much at this stage.

So the count down is on!! Im so excited, cant wait to be pg!! Wub Wub Wub Wub

Mellow its been a bit quiet in here lately. Oh well I have a lot easier job to write personals Laugh Flapper

Rach tomorrow is the day and the start of the month for your TTC journey. Good Luck I will be stalking! Also just wanted to say thank you again for all your kind words and support when I was going through a hard time with my MC's! Smile Cool Yes I am dead set on doing Midwifery - I think!? RollEyes Its a lot of study and I ain't too keen on that part but we have had confirmation that DP can go back to his job and will be getting full time hours in a few months, life is back on track and I really don't care if we can't build a house if I get pregnant and do the midwifery course - provided I get in. I am going to apply this year for it and if I want to wait a year before starting I will defer. So its a very exciting time of year this second half! Laugh ThumpUp The midwifery course can be done externally through UniSA but if you can't get placements for midwifery in your state then you have to be prepared to travel to Adelaide to complete the practicals and things. Nattie emailed them and then forwarded on their reply to me. Luckily I live here so its pretty straight forward besides if I did it whilst working with the placements there are too many weeks you have to be away from work, so I am going to do it when I get pregnant/just had a baby and then work at my old job at subway! Well thats what I am thinking atm any how! lol RollEyes Laugh Lol about your DH, men always think they can do it too! RollEyes

Welcome Larissa! Hope you're not in here too long. Did you and your DH decide on how long you're going to wait before TTC again? Again I am really sorry to hear of your loss and I hope you found my posts helpful! Laugh Or if not at least a good time waster! LOL RollEyes

MissT I would be getting anxious about now if I were you, seeing as it is so close now! But that is just me before we start TTC but once I get that BFP I no longer have any doubt! RollEyes Laugh lol Good Luck for a quick TTC journey! Pray ThumpUp

ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp TAX BACK TIME!!!!!! Might have to get that $500 pram I want with my Tax back cos otherwise I don't know how I am going to get it! Laugh

AMF not much changed here, still waiting on AF. I had a feeling like she was here today like the feeling in your ginny but nothing. Kept going to the loo to check, but this happened last time I got AF after my last MC and she showed up 2days later. So FXed she'll be here on Sat which would make it correct for my Oing time and stuff! Wooo! Dancing Then its back to waiting...

Also those who didn't read what I wrote in Rach's reply, DP got confirmation to start back at his job! Woo and in a few months will be full time!! Dancing

5wks6days until OBGYN appt.

Louise: Yay for the go ahead from your Endocrinologist. I hope your TTC journey is a short one. Will be keeping an eye out for your BFP announcement and birth announcement.

Rachel (Raff): Thank you for your advice re: my neice. I will def pass it on to my step-mother. Hopefully she can figure out why Melissa is such a naughty girl. Fingers crossed.
I will be stalking your WHOLE journey. LOL LOL

Precious Cargo: How cool!!! You’ll have the keys sooo soon!! That’s so exciting. Dancing Dancing
Advice on renos are; get heaps of quotes from all different places and don’t let them dictate to you.Cursing Brick wall You know how you want things to look and if they don’t agree don’t use them. I had this problem with my kitchen because it’s so small and in the middle of the house most places did not want to put an island in it but I wanted the island and I got my island and it looks awesome!!!

Sara (Twnimonkey): I wish I had your patience. I would explode if my DH did that in the house. It’s bad enough at the moment – being a work in progress – with dust everywhere and skirting boards waiting to be put on taking up my lounge and dining room and rooms with no skirting boards. Bugs keep coming up between the floorboards and the wall. It’s funny to watch.

Possumpie: I hope your DH come around soon. It would be awesome to hear/see you come here and shout that it’s a go ahead. Now that would be GREAT NEWS!!

Casey: I really hope the 6 weeks goes quickly for you. There is nothing worse than waiting on results. I can really empithise; it took 8 weeks for our chromosone test after the 3 rd m/c. Longest 8 weeks of my life. I can’t give you too much info re sperm sample but DH HAD to give a “fresh” sample at a clinic. Apparantly it is not as hard as us girls think. Of course afterward I was a bit immature knowing what he had just done….I teased him all the way home from Coffs Harbour. That was the longest 3 hours of DH’s life. Hahah
Midwifery. How cool. I think I would like you to be my midwife…..pity we are sooo far away. Laugh
I really hope AF has shown up. Pray

Leasha (leasha83): Welcome to M&B. Fingers crossed for you that your GP will have the answers.

Kristy (katesmummy): Yay on convincing DH for #3. I hope it doesn’t take you 12 months again. I’m sorry I can’t help with the clomid question.

MissT: OOOOO Yay, the count down is on. Good Luck!!

Larissa (Larissa Jade): Welcome. Good Luck with your TTC journey

AFM – Thank you all so much for your support and understanding of my very self-centred and sad story. Unfortunatley the way I am at the moment I need all the help I can get. I was doing Zumba the other night and I just burst into tears. Nothing that I know of set me off. I just felt like a volcano was brewing in my tummy and chest and I thought to myself “I’m going to cry” had to run out of the class before I did.
I actually have some good news. DH has decided to have one more natural cycle before going through IVF.Dancing We will only get one chance but that is all it takes because if we do anymore we will miss out on our Oct PGD Work-Up and Feb Transfer which we are really hopeing for. I will come off my pill tomorrow and we will start from there.
I hope I got back to everyone. I’m sorry that I don’t come on here more often, I really should, but when I do get the chance I will reply to everyone.
Until next time GBH to everyone. Wub Wub

Thanks for the welcome ladies BigGrin

I'm kind of excited and releived, we saw my GP this morning and she gave us the OK to start TTC again!! Yay!! I wasn't sure if we'd have to wait a few cycles or what but she said it's all good and we can start as soon as we're ready.

We had a chat and when it boils down to it I just want to be pregnant again ASAP and I feel like if we wait then my head and fear will get in the way and it'll all get too much and my head will basically be in the way, so we are just waiting for signs of ovulating and we'll give it a shot Smile

I have no idea when I'll be o'ing though, my cycle was usually 28-32 days most months, so yeah, I still have a bunch of OPKs so I'll get them out again.

Thanks sooo much for the support and kindness everyone - I hope we're all gonna have quick, successful TTC journeys!!
