So going off all the birth related threads, particularly Jules one about whether you watched your baby being birthed heres another one :
Did your partner take a peek while you were pushing out your babe??

Steve did with both our older 2. He never said he wanted to during the pregnancies, and he never said he didn't want to but when the moment came our midwife asked if he wanted to see the baby be born and so he went down the business end.
With Hudson he couldn't because he was birthed underwater and I was leaning over the edge of the pool. I *think* he was standing up trying to see what was happening but there was 2 midwives trying to move me so they could see if the baby had been partly birthed or not, so Steve kind of got pushed behind them.
At the time I couldn't care less what he was seeing but now I kind of go EEK!! He saw all of that!! Oh well, he hasn't been scarred by it LOL

My sisters DH said all during my sisters pregnancy that no way was he going down the business end. He said he didn't want to see and my sister was pleased with that. Now he regrets not watching his baby be born and he has said that when they have another child he is definately going to watch s/he be born. Don't think my sister is thrilled!! LOL LOL

Nope, DH stayed up massaging my back during the sore bit of labour, and when we went into theatre for the c-section, he was up by my head talking to me and keeping my mind off the operation.

Tillys father wasn't there, by my choice.
However I had a great audience, my mum and sister watched tilly come into the world. My dad was also there holding my hand, his eyes firmly on the clock above my head!!

There was also 1 student and 2 midwives present.

Come to think of it, a lot of people came into that birth suite.. More people saw me naked during childbirth than throughout the rest of my entire life so far!!! Lol.

Funny that hey!! I thought that about Coles birth. Because he was coming early and no one knew how he would be once he was out there was so many people in the room - DH, my parents, 2 midwives and baby doctors. I didn't care at the time though!!

Yep DH did with both of ours. He wasn't "down that end of the bed", but was standing next to me the whole time so could see everything that was going on.
I only jst found out recently that he saw DS1's head crowning... I was so out of it I never even realised!

yes, dh saw both of ours being born. i think i had one of my feet on him for support when i was pushing during both births (well, at least one anyway). i can't remember if it was when jacob or zach was born, but he said to me afterwards "it looked like he was wearing a polo shirt" (i.e. when the head was out) LOL LOL LOL

With Jack, I required an episitomy, so he watched them cut me to help me to push Jack out Blushing . He said it looked AND sounded horrible !!

With Rihanna, he watched down there aswell. It didn't bother me at all. He has every right IMO to watch our babies be born Wub Wub

Yeah for both so far. With DD i think he was standing next to and when the midwife asked if he wanted to see he checked it out.

With DS he bought a front row ticket LMAO! I was kneeling on the bed and he was down the feet end with DD watching and taking photos :P So how my *** and DS being born is forever capture in time!!! Bet the developers loved seeing those photos printed!!!

Poor DH had to go down there as when I started pushing only the midwife was there and we were waiting on the Ob. The middie asked him to come and help hold my legs/feet so down he went. He wasn't really happy about it as he kept saying "I'm supposed to be at your head" as soon as the Ob arrived (about 5mins into pushing) he moved straight back to my head RollEyes LOL

DH claims to have seen enough when DD1 was born and he stayed kneeling next to my head on the bed. The middie asked him to hold my leg up but he got my doula to do that and at that moment he know longer thought of her as a waste of money but rather the best money ever spent LOL. DD2 he didn't want to even be in the room for which suited me as it meant he would look after Talia. My doula let him know when I was pushing and asked if he would like to come in but he turned her down and came in shortly after.

Spontaneous labor in a normal woman is an event marked by a number of processes so complicated and so perfectly attuned to each other that any interference will only detract from the optimal character. The only thing required from the bystanders is that they show respect for this awe-inspiring process by complying with the first rule of medicine - nil nocere (do no harm)

DH took a peek at DD's head crowning and then quickly returned to his position next to my head holding me hand. I don;t think he was a fan of what he saw LOL

With Declan I had a mirror so DH could see what was happening, with Sebastian and Lachlan I birthed them quickly and DH was holding my hand so wasn't looking down there! He did say he has a lot of respect for what my bodyis capable of though!BigGrin
