So havent really been on here for since the passing of my partner Gavin, but i thought i would write my birth story of little Jett who came 3 weeks after his daddy went to heaven.

So i was 36+5 and i woke up having quite stron braxton hicks at 4am.. didnt really think much of it as i have had irritable uterus throughout both my pregnancys. Still having them quite regular i got up and went to the toilet and lost my bloody show into the toilet.. So i started to think things may be happening but i had an appointment with my OB at 12pm so i decided to have breaky and a shower and see if things would progress. contractions wernt painful but they were really strong and coming regularly at around 7min intervals.
12pm come round and MIL came to pick me up to go to OB when i told her i thought i was in labour. So OB did an internal and i was 3cms!! he gave me the option to go home but given i was still 36 weeks and my history we decided it was better to go up to the ward!.So i got to the ward and unpacked my room and went for a walk outside in the garden and relaxed a bit.. contractions were coming alot stronger but still not painfull and i was put on the CTG machine and they wernt as regular as they would have liked. So at around 4 OB came in to do another internal and i was 5cms so he decided to break my waters to get things a bit more regular.. and then they were instantly coming 4 mins apart and they were getting painful.. at around 5.30 they were getting bad so the midwife offered if i wanted to move down to the birth suite which i took up because i honestly thought the baby was about to come.. doc came around at 6.30 and did an internal and i was still only 5cm :(.. at this time i decided to go on the gas then i was in sooo much pain contrations were ontop of each other and i couldnt lie on my back anylonger because he had sunken right down into my tailbone. i felt alot of pressure downlow so midwife did an internal and i was nearly 10cms. She then took the gas off me which i did not like one bit.. so i held off the urge to push whislt she called the OB back and after about 6 or so pushes i tried to quit lol it was so bad but then in the next push came his head and im pretty sure that was the worst of the pain and then all of a sudden i have my beautiful boy in my arms!Jett Gavin, born at 9.17 weighing 2.9kgs(which everyone thought was a good weight for a 36 weeker Smile ) Gavins mum was my birthing partner so she cut the cord.

Jett was having trouble breathing so i only got a little hold before he was rushed off into a humicrib and put on oxygen which was quite distressing because of my daughter Ellas history but i got to cuddle and breastfeed him the following arvo and he has been putting on loads of weight and is doing great!

He is the spitting image of his beautiful angel sister EllaSmile

Thanks for reading!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy Shannon Smile Smile

I am in awe of the strength you showed, in what would have been an extremely emotionally and physically difficult situation.

Your baby is lucky to have you as his mama, and I'm sure his big sister and daddy are watching over the both of you from above.

(ps...I had the gas taken away when it came for me to push and I was not happy either Laugh Laugh )

You sound like an amazing person to cope with the unfair hand you've been dealt.
It was really lovely that your MIL was your birth partner and how wonderful to have beautiful healthy little Jett in your arms.

I wish you all the very best and I hope the future brings you much happiness.
