So what is good levels for 3w5d?

Is 121 ok?

I had another blood test today at 4w1d and I'll have another on Monday at 4w5d to make sure they are doubling.

TIA

EDITED 30/8/11

Got my BT results today. Levels are:
121... 588... 2387

So I don't know if you know the story, but when I first saw my GP she wouldn't listen to me that I knew I ovulated later in my cycle due to a long cycle so I calculate my EDD to be 2/5/12 based on my ovulation tracking and she went of my LMP (which is totally off because my DH didn't even get home until the 10th of August so I can't have gotten pg before then anyway)

So today when I saw her she said, "your levels are really good, increasing nicely, but I think we miscalculated your dates"

I thought to myself, GOOD! Now she'll agree with me!

But no, now she reckons that I'm only 3-4 weeks pg but by my dates I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. She's basing that on the HCG levels but I thought you can not accurately date a pregnancy from HCG levels anyway so WHAT IS SHE ON ABOUT???

She said that when I saw her at the first appointment I would have been 2 weeks pregnant. I said, "Um, how could I have been only 2 weeks pg when I saw you, I got my positive HPT 4 days before then! I know I definately ovulated on the 10th of August!" This confused her and she got a bit annoyed with me that I knew more than her about pregnancy!! So she was like, "it doesn't matter anyway, all we need to know is that your levels are increasing and you're about 3-4 weeks pregnant now"

RollEyes WHATEVER LADY!!!

Anyway, so here's where I need advice. GP doesn't want me to get my dating scan until 7 weeks which she puts at the end of September (my my dates I'll be 8-9 weeks pg by then, she says that 8-9 weeks is too late for an accurate dating scan but 6 weeks is too early because they won't be able to get a heartbeat yet (fair enough) but I will be 7 weeks in 2 weeks whereas she says I'll be 7 weeks in one month.

What do I do? Go with my knowledge of my own body and risk being wrong and not seeing a heartbeat or go by what she says? I want to go by my instinct because how could I have had a +HPT at 2 weeks pg!! I couldn't have, I was only ovulating! DH and I DTD on the 9th and 10th, I got my BFP on the 20th of August at 10dpo. There's no way I got a BFP before I even got pregnant!!! It doesn't make sense!!

Sorry for my rambling, What do you think I should do???

Great levels. Here is a graph with the ranges BigGrin

Spontaneous labor in a normal woman is an event marked by a number of processes so complicated and so perfectly attuned to each other that any interference will only detract from the optimal character. The only thing required from the bystanders is that they show respect for this awe-inspiring process by complying with the first rule of medicine - nil nocere (do no harm)

Wow what a great graph!! Where did you find that???

Not only is 121 good for 3w5d but it's above average!! My silly doctor says they are too low pfft

I had levels around 95-110 with 2 of my pregnancies at 4 weeks exactly. So yours sound great and my 2 children prove mine were good enough!

That is the graph that we used to use at my work (IVF clinic). I got it from one of our nurses so I'm not sure of the actual source but I really like it too!

Raff- just on your update, I would go and see another doctor.

You know your dates and if a dating scan is best done around 7 weeks I'd want to go by your calculations not hers (Mad) IMO.

I hope you can work it out ThumpUp

Thanks everyone, that's what I'm going to do, and yes I will be finding another GP!!! She's ok as DD's GP but she obviously doesn't know much about pregnancy lol

Thanks again, just needed your reassurances :-)

Well I will go against the grain here, was going to suggest maybe splitting the difference and going in about 3 weeks. Better to go a little later than 7 weeks rather than be told it's too early and you will have to come back again.

Thanks Katysmum but I've decided I'm going to trust my insticts. I have tracked my cycles and I'm very in tune with what has been going on so if I'm wrong I'll just have to eat humble pie!!!

I've booked it for my 7th week. There's no other time I could have fit an appointment in anyway as September is going to be a very busy month. DH and I are going away the day after and once we get back he'll be flying out for work again and I'd like him to be at the scan. So FXed that I'm right, I know it's a bit of a risk but I'll take it and hope for the best.

I wonder if she doesnt mean that you are 3 weeks pregnant (post conception)! So actually 5 weeks pregnant. My levels at 4weeks5 days were 2300 so sounds identical to yours. I am 6 weeks tomorrow (due 25th April). I know my dates cause we did ovulation induction.

I was wondering if the GP was getting confused with weeks AFTER ovulation too - but as far as the scan goes I think you've done the right thing going with your dates because as we all know, when you track your cycle closely and know when you O it is much more accurate than just using LMP dates.
