I wonder if she doesnt mean that you are 3 weeks pregnant (post conception)! So actually 5 weeks pregnant. My levels at 4weeks5 days were 2300 so sounds identical to yours. I am 6 weeks tomorrow (due 25th April). I know my dates cause we did ovulation induction.

Haha yeah I asked her that and she said no, 3-4 weeks pregnant (not 3-4 weeks after conception). I asked her because when she said that I was only 2 weeks pregnant when I saw her for the first time I actually did think she meant 2 weeks after conception!!!

I think she just doesn't know. She was staring at her HCG chart for ages trying to figure something out so I guess she's just not used to seeing people for pregnancy. She's great as DD's doctor though!

Weird, I was going to say it sounded like post conception dates also. If you were 2 weeks when you first saw her, then you would have only ovulated/DTD the night before!!! And I agree with you going for the scan by your dates - apart from knowing your own body, dating scans are more accurate the earlier you go and better to be too early than too late. Great levels btw Smile

Spontaneous labor in a normal woman is an event marked by a number of processes so complicated and so perfectly attuned to each other that any interference will only detract from the optimal character. The only thing required from the bystanders is that they show respect for this awe-inspiring process by complying with the first rule of medicine - nil nocere (do no harm)

the gp i saw - a new one to me - was an asian lady but she sent me for 2 hcgs and as they more than doubled then said NO more cause she relies on the scan and sees no need for more bloods. I have to say i felt relief - i hate blood tests, and its meant ive focused more on the scan date than more bloods. She had same opinion as your doc - youre pregnant now to see if baby is healthy etc and get on with it!

actually i was more worried that i was given iodine tablets - and came home to google that! apparently its now standard - been a long time since i was pregnant! things have changed!OhMyGod

Hi all - very new to this!
I had my pregnancy confirmed by urine test at dr on friday - and had a blood test today. Will the results from blood test tell me HCG levels? Are results usually posted? Will the doctor tell me when I have to go in for a scan???

Lucy - you should make a new thread because this ones been inactive for sometime! Yes the blood test results will show your levels. I've never had any results posted, I've needed a doctors appointment. Yes the doctor will inform you about when you will need a scan.
