It’s a guilty and tricky business, parenting. A UK survey has found most British parents believe they’re doing a bad job raising their kids. Two thirds of the 2000 parents said they felt guilty every day about their perceived lack of parental skill; only one in 20 had total confidence in the way they raised their kids, according to the Onepoll survey for frozen food company Ross Burgers. Do you agree?

I don't feel guilty as such. I regret some of the decisions I have made and try to make amends for them but no I don't feel guilty.
Parenting is an on the job learning process so you are going to make mistakes but feeling guilty about them is not going to make things easier. Learning from your mistakes is what helps.

I don't feel guilty either. I am pretty happy with the way DH and I are raising our boys and I am also really happy with the way our boys are growing and developing into individual little people. We must be doing something right.

I don't feel guilty. I'm happy with the way DH and I have chosen to raise our boys. There is a huge problem in society though where mothers judge each other for every little thing from what you feed your baby to what type of nappies you use so i can understand people feeling guilt. It's just crazy.

Seeing how violent and out of control the youth of Britain is, I would agree with the survey and say that yes, British parents ARE doing a bad job of raising their kids.
Especially those that are making their kids 3rd generation dole bludgers and give them no incentive to get a job and stop living off the government!!!

No guilt in the way i parent, but i do feel guilty every time Tilly asks for a sibling - She will never have a biological sister or brother, and it breaks my heart..
I think its worse because my own sister and i are so close. I want her to have that.. but she never will.

I know what we all see in the media, and what we do see is exactly what you explain, out of control youth, but saying all parents in britian are doing a bad job is a little harsh. I have family in england and they are wonderful parents raising down to earth, polite and well mannered children!
As for me sometimes I think I can do things better, sometimes I do feel a little guilty that maybe I am not doing a good enough job. But then I have days where two people today stopes me to tell me how well behaved Kate was being and the man doing her X-ray was very impressed with her so I guess I must be doing something right haha
when I first held you I wanted to change the world...now you have changed mine

Absolutely!! My husband was born and raised in the UK and he turned out beautifully. His parents did a wonderful job of bringing up two polite, honest, respectful, hardworking sons. His cousins have children and they are great parents. Our friends in the UK have children and they are also great parents.
I actually don't know any bad parents in the UK and I know a lot of people in the UK. Maybe that's just my circle but in saying that too... we've had our own out of control riots and we too have our fair share of 3rd generation dole bludgers!!

I agree there too, I have friends over in the UK and they are some of the sweetest people I know. We are about even on the violence, hatred and third generation delinquents.
