Just after some suggestions for different spellings for Hayley.

DP and I have agreed on 'Hayley May' (surname starts with an A) as our baby's name if she is a girl but I don't like the spelling of this version of Hayley.

The Poll is for the spellings I have found.

DP doesn't like Haylee - cos he said it looks like 'Hey Lee?' like you're calling out to someone. RollEyes But yet I prefer this one. Smile And he like Hayley but I think its got too many 'Y's but that is JMO.

I like Haylea and Hailey but I went to school with a Hailey and Haylea is close to the spelling of our friend's DD who spelt Ashley as Ashlea - although she said we can use that spelling and gave us the blessing to do so (she actually suggested it!)

So do you have any other suggestions or which one do you prefer??

Thanks for your help and I will give any new suggestions to DP and see what he says as well and let you know the final outcome.

Cute name. Just be prepared though if you go with an unusual spelling you will always be correcting people.

We spelt Abby's name as Abbigale and we are always having to spell it out for people as they jump the gun to spell it Abigail. Not trying to turn you off an interesting spelling but just warning you. Smile

What about Haylie? We spelt DD's name Emilie because I didn't like the look of the y at the end either LOL bear in kind that if you choose Hayley, everyone will automatically know how to spell it. If you use a different spelling you will forever have to spell it out for people, and then she will have to when she's older. We are forever saying (like to doctors or daycare or friends etc) "Emilie which is spelt E.M.I.L.I.E " or "Emilie with an I.E" and people still go "huh?" And spell it wrong LOL I didn't think it would annoy me but it kinda does after doing it a gaziliion times!

Thats ok with the spelling, I get asked how to spell my name and its the standard spelling Casey! lol And she will have to spell the last name anyway as people always get it wrong and spell it differently to the way it is spelt.

I figured with a name like Hayley she will be asked anyway as there are lots of different spellings out there. My friend has to spell her DD's name as they ask if its Ash-ley or leigh and she has to say neither its Ashlea.

Oh if you vote for Other, please let me know the Other spelling! ThumpUp

I really like Hailey, it just looks right to me (then again it might be because my friends little ones name is Hailey) Smile

I wouldn't worry about people getting the spelling wrong, as long as you like it! DD gets called A-liss-sia, instead of A-lee-see-a even by my inlaws (now that's annoying Glare) I don't think you'd have that problem with any of the spelling combinations for Hayley Wink

For some reason I am always unable to vote on the polls here!! Huh

My DD is Baeley so we were also unsure of how to spell her name so we wrote out a few different ways and Baeley appealed to us the most.

Here are some more variations:

Haeley
Hayleigh
Haileigh
Haeleigh
Hailee

I can never vote on these things either! I'm more for traditional spelling for names but I have a few names in mind for this baby and none are the traditional spelling Laugh We spelt Isaac the traditional way and we're forever having to spell it out! Hardly anyone gets it right.. Izaak, Issac, Isak..

My fav choices would be Hailey or Hailee. I love the name but I don't like the 2 y's in it either Laugh Good luck choosing!
