Isabelle hasn't asked for a single feed over the last 5 days so I think she has now officially self-weaned at the tender age of 26 months.

Feeling a bit emotional about it really (or is that the clomid hehe) - feel really quite sad that this part of our relationship has come to an end as it is something that I have absolutely loved and treasured Crying .

But I am also feeling really happy and proud that it has ended in the perfect way - absolutely at her instigation with not a whit of pressure from me. Just slowly, gradually and naturally - I couldn't be happier as that is exectly how I wanted it to happen Smile .

Well done 'lefty' and 'righty' (that's what Isabelle calls them Laugh ) - you have done well my friends! Now you can go back to being (almost) your old selves again.

Well done Amelia and Isabelle! It is an emotional time when you realise you'll never have that relationship with her again.

congrats on making it so far, you should be proud! It is such a bittersweet moment isnt it? cooper self weaned at 29 months, and it made me so sad...but we have such a special bond. its kind of funny once they wean they forget that they ever breastfed, even if they were total boob addicts! :P

Thanks girls Smile

And just when I thought we were done, she asked for milky before bed last night for the first time in about a week. I said ok of course and she sucked away for about 2 minutes then started getting a bit agitated because there was nothing coming out and tried the other one - after a while she just gave up and hasn't asked for any since. I guess once it gets to the point where the milk supply is getting this low she eventually wont bother asking anymore. Although I think really she just likes the cuddle and the closeness (as do I!).
