oh the poor darling I had a swollen eye similar to this last year and doctor said it was definitely an insect bite of some kind. I found ice eased the pain and reduced the swelling. is the rest of eye ok? no gunk or anything? Me- 24 DS-1

raff, you should have seen brooklyn (dd3)'s eye the other week. she'd been bitten on the top of her forehead by a mozzie when we went to christmas carols. the following day, her forehead and eyebrow were swollen and a tiny bit of her lid. by the following day though, she couldnt open her eye as her entire eye was so swollen from the reaction to the mozzie bite. i got her some kids claratyne, we gave it to her the first day before her eye swelled up so much, and then again on the 2nd day and it started going down by day 3

If there is no bite mark it can also be an allergic reaction. I get this from random things food, plastics, plants pollen etc. Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission. ~Eleanor Roosevelt~

Yep I was going to suggest a kids antihistamine too. Olivia and Dylan react like this to mozzie bites too. Dylan had a massive one on his ankle. It was so swollen you would almost swear it was broken. But we find an antihistamine brings the swelling down nicely. Go and see a chemist (while she still has a nice reaction) and they will be able to help you pick the best one. SaraMama of:Mikayla - 4 Years OldDylan and Olivia - 2 Years Old and currently baking

Awww poor mite. Looks like it could be an insect bite and as it is near the sensitive part of the eye it may have made it swell ?? As someone else said, have you got a children's antihistamine? That may take away some of the reaction. On another note, how awesome does your kitchen bench look!!??
