So cycle 4 on clomid was a big fail *sigh* - started spotting this morning which means that AF is on her way again. Sad

I was so hoping that somehow this last cycle would be a success so we wouldn't have to move on to IUI, but alas it seems that it was not to be... Crying

So I will be taking clomid as usual days 3-7, then daily FSH injections from day 9, daily blood tests from day 12 and IUI once my surge has been detected. For those who have done IUI, does it seem unusual that I would be doing this without any US scans? Have been googling and it seems like that is what most people have... Unsure

Anyway I guess I will just keep on blitzing my diet and exercise for the 2 weeks or so - would love to get back to pre pregnancy weight by IUI time - only 2 kg to go, so hopefully do-able.

Wish me luck!

Lots of luck Amelia, I haven't done IUI but with IVF they are forever giving you scans,I'm surprised they aren't especially since your using clomid and having the injections, give the nurses a ring and ask them

Hi Mealsy,

Mine was a bit different but I guess everyones circumstances are a little bit different and I wasn't on Clomid. There were clear signs of my ovulation and that my body was producing enough FSH each month. But this is what I had to do:

Started puregon 50imu from day 5 and I had blood tests every second or third day from then on and blood tests every day close to my surge like you've got. But I had one ultrasound about day 11.

I'm guessing that if you're starting low dose of FSH day 9 there really isn't any chance of overstimulating as the ultrasound is to make sure you are not overstimulated and producing multiple eggs which is near impossible on a low dose of FSH for a couple of days.

Can you get your hubby to inject you? Mine does and it makes him feel a part of the process and the one time I had to do it myself I sweated over it for about 30mins :)

As I've said before IUI is no biggy, honesty! Relax be healthy and you'll be fine. Good luck.

Thanks lovelies - I really appreciate all the good wishes Wub

Rae - apparently I am ovulating too, and was even before starting clomid. Well at least I did during the month I had my blood tests. Interesting that your regime is so different. Hopefully I'll be ok without the ultrasound - may just end up with triplets lol! Laugh OhMyGod Not sure if I'll get hubby to inject me or not - I'll see how steady his hands seem at the time... Scared

Lily&Me - Thanks for your suggestion - I think I will follow your advice and ask the nurses when i go in next week. My FS seems a wee bit laissez faire about the whole thing, which I am not too comfortable with really... Or maybe I am just a control freak with trust issues... Huh

Thanks Nattie and Tess - need all the luck I can get! ThumpUp

Just found out that the last lady in my mothers group (apart from me, obviously) is pregnant. She is 42 and fell naturally. I am really happy for her (honestly) as I know she has been trying for a while, but it is also just so frustrating... I hate being the only one still trying when everyone else is either pregnant or already has a 2nd little (or not so little anymore!) baby.

*sigh*

Positive attitude, where are yoooouuu?

oh Amelia I know that feeling all to well and it sucks to try and be happy when deep down you are so sad, I have family members that look at their other half and bam 'bun in the oven' I hated it and I loved coming here (AC section)to vent about my true feelings, they are all valid feelings and don't feel bad for thinking those sorts of things it really is just human nature

Lots of luck

Wishing you all the best with the IUI and hope that it's a roaring success! It is hard when you see people getting pregnant and it's not happening for you, but hang in there, your BFP is just around the corner and it will be totally worth all this waiting
