Hey ladies, thought it would be interesting to talk about any addictions we have in late pregnancy!!! In my first pregnancy I was addicted to those "zooper dooper" icey poles, but the fruit ones! It seems this time round, it's the same!!! Flapper I've been eating bout 3 a day & also those Calippos (the minis)! What are you guys addicted to?! Drool
Also, how do I get those 'tickers' at the bottom of my signature?

Unfortunately, it was McNuggets. I feel very guilty now for the amount of McNuggets I ate during my pregnancy. It got to the point where I felt so huge and cumbersome that I didn't want to go anywhere - I'd drive to Maccas, buy 20 McNuggets, and then drive home. I'd eat half, and I'd peel the other half to feed my cats!

With DD it was cheeseburgers :-(

Every single day I would finish work, go straight to Maccas and buy two cheeseburgers and scoff them down. When I was in labour I was scared I would give birth to a cheeseburger baby LOL I remember feeling so guilty and thinking I'll never eat Maccas again if only my baby was born healthy!

Yerr that lasted... NOT!

With DS it was potato!! Mashed potato was the biggest one. We'd go out for dinner and everyone would be eating their steaks or seafood baskets and I'd order a big plate of mash!!
But wedges, chips, baked potatoes... If it was potato I wanted it. If I was feeling hungry I'd grab a potato from the cupboard, stab it with a fork a few times, microwave it for a bit, cut it in quarters, cover it with all purpose seasoning and cheese, microwave it a bit more then eat!! We went through bags and bags of potato!!!! LOL LOL

Actually yes, I craved Pineapple with DD too! I would stack my shopping basket full of tinned pineapple and eat at least one can a day LOL I forgot about that! Pineapple is apparently good for bringing on labour if you're overdue but it has to be fresh, not cooked or tinned.

After giving birth to DD I stopped eating pineapple altogether, I just had no desire to eat it, in fact, when I cleaned out our pantry before ripping out our kitchen for renos I found a stack of tinned pineapple LOL

Ouch!! I don't know how you can eat that much pineapple!! When I hit 40 weeks with DS I bought two big pineapples and started eating them hoping it would kick start labour! I got half way through the first one and the acid burnt the crapola out of my mouth! It hurt so bad I couldnt eat any more LOL

Yep, fresh pineapple gives me mouth ulcers. I only have to eat a slither and I'll guarantee you in 2 days time a dirty big ulcer erupts in my mouth :-( and in pregnancy you cant use kenalog - the only thing that gets rid of them for me.

i've been craving acidic things... sour lollies, vinegar on everything. but even by my standards, today i did something a little weird (and yes i have very odd combo cravings) today we had supreme pizza for dinner. and i felt like mint sauce on it. so i put mint sauce on my pizza. and it wwas so yum. loved it. but i always craved fish with tonnes of lemon, or flavoured milk, or spicy stuff like chilli, with the girls. and once i had a tin of spaghetti with parmesan chees,e chiili sauce and bacon strips on top. it was what i wanted. peanut butter sandwich with icecream too- if you toast it, it tastes like waffles mmmmmm

With DS it was fruit. I had bad swelling so I was prolli just dehydrated but all I could think of all day was fruit. I would sit and eat a kg of grapes at a time. That and lychees, watermelon and pineapple.
I am pretty obsessed with pinapple at the moment too..fresh or juice.

Raff - (that's actually my DS name as his full name is Raffaele)! Thanks for the ticker info. What's an img? Image? Sorry I'm so new to this.
I love fruit too, but like some of you guys, I get full on ulcers/ulsores (sp?) on my tongue!
You'll never guess what I've just finished at 9:00 am in the morning???...a calippo! Flapper Mmmm. Probably because I just vomited & a calippo is all I could stomach right now. I've been vomiting throughout the whole pregnancy. Sick

Slushies, Frozen coke etc. I just have to have one luckily I'm only in town once a week so If it's not here I can't have it so icypoles have to do but I will microwave a suckerbar icypole for a few seconds till its like a slushie.
If I'm in town it's also maccas cheeseburgers, and spearmint thickshakes. with my girls it was maccas cheeseburgers and choc thickshakes. Also nuggets with sweet chilli sauce. But the last few days it's been icecream smothered in milo, so I guess i'm low in calcium again as I struggle with a bit of a lactose problem.

I met a lady a few years ago who was having real Pica cravings and was addicted to eating her daughters wax crayons. Laugh
