I'm 15 days post partum, and the last few days I've been bleeding quite heavily, to the point where I'm using pads again, a few days ago I was wearing panty liners or nothing the bleeding was so light. I also just passed a large clot when I went to the loo.
Anyone else had this? I'm worried it might be a post partum haemmorhage. I'm going to go see my Doctor tomorrow.

Well I probbably shouldn't be ansering as with the blood clots in my uterus I was always going to bleed more than others but My post partum bleeding this time was 9 weeks. It was really heavy for about 5 weeks clots and all. If you think it is an unusual amount of blood though I would go to the doctor. Trust your gut. Sorry I can't give you too much advice I don't really remeber hoe much I bled with the boys.

RJ: I bled for just under six weeks, didn't pass any really big clots though. Think the largest was about the size of a 50c coin.
Do remember it went through heavier and lighter days though, esp if I had been running around. But then my normal period is like that too - heavy for a few days, light for one to two days then heavy again for another 24 hours so could be some thing like that.

Hope it gets sorted tomorrow.

I remember having this too, I had pretty much stopped bleeding after having Charlie and then all of a sudden it started up again, went for about another week or so and then stopped again! :)

I was like this too...stopped bleeding heavily by the time I left hospital (at 3 days after having DS2), then it got heavier a few days later, then stopped again, then started up...went like this for just under 6 weeks!!

Must say, I did get a bit curious when I saw you posting in the 1st Trimester section RJ Laugh Laugh

The bleeding after I had DS was shocking. Stop, Start, heavy, light, massive clots, red, brown, black you name it I had it and It was all over the place.

I had a heamorrage with Zeke though so I was closely monitored after her was born. I know if it is bright red, fresh blood for 24 hours or so (after you have had brown blood) you should see a dr.

Have you had any bad cramping?

Mine did this after I had Ashton, then I passed a clot the size of my fist and a few days later my bleeding slowed right down and all up it probably lasted about 6wks.

Thanks for all the replies ladies, after I passed two big clots I had some cramping and the bleeding has settled right down. I'm kind of glad I passed the clots, I had been feeling a lot of pressure down there and thought I might have had some kind of prolapse, but it was just the clots sitting there. So that's a relief!!
