Just wondering because I've noticed this. Anyone who has had more than one baby did you notice your child's personality while they were in your womb to when they were born and grew up were different to one another and matched what you expected from your experience when pregnant with them? Does that make sense,LOL

Eg. DD1 if I were to rub her feet or back when I was pg with her, she would immediately move away as if I were tickling her or she didn't want my touch. DH and DSD would find it hard to feel a kick because if I said "come and feel the baby kicking" as soon as they put their hand there she would stop and/or move away! DD1 as a child has always been a bit ticklish on her back and doesn't really like being stroked (she will tend to push you away if you touch her lovingly). She is affectionate but not a touchy feely person by personality.

DD2 well I've noticed she is so very different inside me! If me or DH put my hand on my belly she will shift to that side to get closer and more often than not she will stick her feet out (could be elbows or arms - not sure) almost like reaching out to us to get more rubs! I'm thinking maybe DD2 will be a very affectionate girl and love cuddles and physical touch! I hope so coz that is the kind of person I am. I love touch and cuddles etc :-)

So what are your experiences?

Evelyn was ridiculously active in utero. My stomach was constantly being stretched into weird and wacky shapes with her bouncing from side to side and kicking and pushing. It was crazy. Even at 41+ weeks, she was still flipping from side to side. I was worried I was going to end up with a really hyper kid who could never sit still, but she turned out to be a calm and pretty centred kid.

She also followed my strokes if I pressed hard on my belly, and she did turn out to be an affectionate kid.

DS was the same as your DD1 Raff. He would hide from dopplers, ultrasound wands, any poking or touching and he would move away. And he is definitely NOT a cuddly kid. DP felt DS move maybe twice ever! DS was not much of a mover in utero, I felt him maybe 1-2 times a day on average, I could never do the whole 10 kick count thing. He just didn't move. He wasnt much of a wiggler when he was born either. Come to think of it, It also took him a while to get moving, 10 months for crawling and 15 till walking!

I would really like a cuddly kid Wub DP isn't a very affectionate, touchy person, whereas I am!!

Same with DS2. He wasn't very active in my tummy... always asleep. I use to poke him when I was pregnant just to make sure he was ok. Even now he still likes his sleep. He is no problem to put to bed, in fact most nights he tells us he's ready for bed or he just goes on his own!! He is a late riser in the mornings too!! Laugh Laugh

My daughter was very very active when I was pregnant! Would keep me awake half the night even! And to this day she is exactly the same!! Very active child and always on the move and even when she's sleeping she moves around a lot!
Never really thought about that though lol

Same here! That sounds exactly like my family. DH, DSD and DD none of them are cuddlers. Whereas I am. It's almost like I'm craving for one of them to return my physical affection! So I'm hoping that what I'm experiencing with this baby means I'll get my cuddly bub!

My first would hide in utero! And his ultrasound pic at 12 weeks showed him on his back with arms behind his head and ankles crossed over just chilling out... Which is exactly like him. And he wouldn't ever kick for anyone, and hated being stroked. Which is exactly the same as him now! So unaffectionate lol.

My DD is sooooo opposite.... She moved all the time during the day but would sleep all night ( she has been a pretty good sleeper I spose- wakes up a lot for feeds but has always gone straight back down. Whenever anyone would touch my tummy she would move straight there, and she kicked me sooooo hard, all the time. And she is the most cuddly, affectionate baby- she just looooves cuddles!! And has been really active, crawled at 6 months where as hamish was 10 months. As I type this she has crawled over to me and draped herself over me haha!

So I'm sure you will get your cuddle bug Rach! My DH is the same as you, really loves physical touch where as I'm soooooooo not haha so it's been quite challenging having a little person who wants to be attached and held tight 24 hours a day, she only just moved into her own bed lol

DD was not very active but loved to be stroked and rubbed. She is still very affectionate and loves cuddles and can easily sit still for long periods of time.

DS was very hyperactive in utero and hated to be touched and would squirm away from me touching and ultrasounds. He would also go balistic during my midwife checks. He still is a hyperactive child and only likes to be touched on his terms.

Both my kids also loved music in the womb and still do now Smile
