Hi, i would like there to be an article on fertility drugs.

The different kinds of drugs available. (metformin, clomid, ext)
What type of infertility they are used for. (pcos, ext)
What advantages, disadvantages and success rates they each have.
What side effects they have if any.
Some short stories from real mums and dads, on what did and didn't work.

Thanks heaps,
BEC

I would like to read and let other mums to be know about Strep B.

How important it is to get a swab done at 35 - 37 weeks. To make sure when getting it doen to make sure you havent been on abtibiotics. Also there is a risk of a fales reading.
Also if your baby is born with strep b.

My DD has strep b. Thankfully due to the quick response of the hospital staff Abi was treated ASAP. And now is in full health.
However this is not what happens for everyone.

I knew very little of the risk of strep b.

Sadley babies and mums have died from this. And not all hospitals test women for strep b.
Sad because it is so preventable

I buy p&b even though i'm not pregnant and I won't be getting pregnant for a few more years. But I can't help but buy it, what if there is something in there that I might need to read about when I do get pregnant
Perhaps you could have a article on baby showers? Get advice/tips from women who have had them. I didn't have a clue how to organise one, so I didn't. :(
I can't think of anything else that other people haven't mentioned. But I would like to know more about IVF and infertility as I don't know much about these.

Thank you :D

definalty IVF....

i have been so overwhelmed on the whole procedure. Letting people know of where to go, what kind of drugs you get put on, rebates as well as up front costs etc.

This seems to be such a common option women are having to face now days.

All of this would have been so helpful to know when we started it, we are getting closer and closer to transfer and in the middle of drugs and still finding out things we did not know.

Maybe there could be stories from women who were pregnant or are currently pregnant with twins or more as to how they are managing or managed through there pregnancy & what tips they can give to others in the same situation.

Maybe an article on the resources and classes you can do before bub is born to help increase your chances of BF successfully. Things like ABA's Breastfeeding Education Classes, getting a membership to ABA (since you also get a free book) going to group meetings, talking to lactation consultants (if you perhaps have problems like flat or inverted nipples or previous breast surgery) and stuff like that. Also including stuff about getting baby to breast ASAP after birth and mums having a feeding plan as well as a birth plan (eg if mum can't feed bub or hold bub then dad is to have skin to skin etc). These things are skimmed over at most antenatal classes. Things like trying to stop midwives shoving your boob into bubs mouth and more focus on baby led attachment. I know this stuff gets mentioned in M&B as well but I feel getting the info to mums while they are pregnant will do a lot.

I totally agree with what you have said Phoenix there needs to be more public awareness when it comes to bf how to prepare for it while pregnant.
I seriously wonder if my hospital really prepares women when they are pregnant even though it is a bf friendly hospital as I went to a bf class run by my hospital and there was only me and one other woman there. :? It was worth while for me but I really think there must be more women who would have attended too if they knew about it. Same goes for the hospital promoting ABA as my bf education class got cancelled due to me being the only one who had my name down for that class. :?

I buy P&B mag every issue and I love it.

Would love to see an article on:
- Gender Selection - how many people wanted a specific sex of their child and if their attempts were successful?
- Nursery decorating - before and after pictures or a section with finished products of everyday nurseries so people can get ideas.
- Multiple CS and VBA2C or VBA3C information - plus the pros and cons of a natural birth compared to CS - ie Tearing upwards not just downwards, heommorage (spl) etc etc
- Cheap and affordable clothing for bubs.
- More birth stories - love them - can't get enough
